Okay, okay, so Mom didn't want to share ALL of her food with me. She gave me a little piece of bread, but no matter how much I insisted, she would not let me have more. I guess my taking things into my own beak, literally, and trying to run up Mom's arm and take a bite wasn't too appreciated.

So, here I am, back in my house (cage) while mom sits there having lunch and Gypsy still has free roam of the cages and curtains. Sometimes my explorative nature gets the better of me and I end up in my house for a short period of time while Gypsy is still free to roam around on the cages. Gypsy and I do enjoy playing through the cage bars though. Sometimes we even preen each other through the bars.

I guess you could say my favorite cage-pastime has to be fishing a wooden ball out of my toy bowl. Mom fills the bowl to the rim with all sorts of fun things to chew on. I will empty the bowl of all of the toys except for one wooden ball. Then I position myself just right with my rump on one edge of the bowl, and my beak holding on to the other. I could touch the bottom of the bowl with my tippy toes if I wanted to, but that would be no fun. No, the fun comes in scrambling around with my feet trying to find that elusive ball. There it is!!! I grab the ball with one foot and, (here comes the tricky part) I attempt to stand on the side of the bowl. Sometimes I succeed on the first attempt, other times I drop the ball and the fun of fishing for it starts all over again. When I do finally make it to standing on the rim, my prize in one talon, I like to beak it a few times, then I happily drop it back into the bowl so I can start all over again. When Mom is in the room I hear her laugh and call me a silly bird as she watches me play. I can do this for days. Well, maybe not days. I do like playing like this for a good 15 minutes or so. And I tell you, that is a loooong time for something to have my attention. Once I am finished, it is off to find other fun stuff in my cage.

This is another of my fun time things to do. Mom made this. I like walking through the spring, as well as on top of it. There are three plastic chains hanging down from the middle of the spring. One has a bell on it. I like to hang on these chains and bounce up and down. Fun stuff!! Mom learned how to make the spring from one of the ladies on the Caique Mailing List. (Directions coming in the future).

Okay, enough cage time. I finished amusing myself and eating. I want out now. It is time for the jailhouse walk. Back and forth, back and forth, I walk in front of the cage door. Dad says all I need is a tin cup to rake across the bars and I would be the perfect jailbird. I personally think this makes me look so pathetic that Mom and Dad feel guilty for having me in the cage and they open the door to freedom.

To see a movie of me doing the jailbird walk click on the movie screen. It is a large file (5.85 MB, but Mom is working on making it smaller). It is also a little dark, but gives you an idea of how I can make Mom and Dad feel guilty.

Hmmm, now that my jailbird walk has worked, and Mom and Dad have let me out, lets see, what mischief can I get into?
